Retreat 2026

Journey to the heart of the Amazon

Orito, Putumayo, Colombia

In March 2026, we set off for Colombia. After spending two days in Bogotá, we traveled by bus to Putumayo, where a ten-day retreat in the Amazon rainforest began.

First days in Colombia

Bogota

Our journey began in Bogota – the vibrant, colorful capital of Colombia, located high in the Andes.

We spent the first two days resting, getting to know each other and exploring the city before continuing our journey to the south of the country.

Journey to Orito

We left Bogotá by bus at around 5:00 PM. Just getting out of the huge Colombian capital took us almost two hours.

When you wake up in the morning, the big city is no longer outside your window. You are in the middle of a vast jungle stretching for many kilometers.

The road continues through mountains, forests and small towns, until after about 17 hours we finally reach Orito itself.

Retreat

Ten intense days in the Amazon jungle of Putumayo, Colombia. A time for ceremonies, integration, rest and a deep connection with nature.

Together with our guides and the local community, we opened ourselves to the healing power of teacher plants and the elements.

This experience forever changed the way we look at life, nature and ourselves.

Life After the Retreat

After the retreat, some participants stayed with us for several more days. It was a quieter time to rest after the ceremonies and experience life in Putumayo more deeply.

We organized trips deeper into the jungle and to the nearby river. Together, we explored the surrounding nature, rested by the water, and discovered places away from the main trails.

Part of the stay also involved working together around the house. Everyone could take part in daily tasks, small repairs, and preparing the space for everyday life.

An important part of this time was integration and sharing experiences. We met with local residents and Taitas, talked, shared stories, and simply spent time together.
